Lyda always wants to know with what kind of material she works and especially what the possibilities of the material are. That is why she has tested the wool of the 68 different thoroughbred sheep breed that walks about in the Netherlands for their felt capacity. As a modern felt artist she feels very close to the history and tradition. In 1995 she made together with a group of Danish/English felters a yurt(ger) in which the Nomads were living.
The Yurt Under the guidance of Lyda people have felted in 2000 a tent, according an own design with the wool of origin Dutch “Drents Heideschaap” (Drents Moorland sheep).
